Stranded knitting how-to's.

Per request, here's how I learned to do stranded knitting:

is a great video.
I knit Continental, so the two-handed method works great for me. Also, holding the 2nd strand English-style helps me not pull too tightly. I actually was a bit loose, and it was kind of a pain to go back and pull all the extra yarn to the side, but definately better than being too tight, since that'll make it pucker.

Well, now that I'm looking, I realize that the Philosopher's Wool video IS still working, just not for my Netscape. But with Internet Explorer, it's a great video. Also, the part titled "The Third Stitch" helps get rid of all those loops you see on my work, by weaving the unused yarn in as you go.. Hmm, definately doing it that way next time, especially on sleeves, to eliminate the chance of catching little fingers.

Sorry for the lack of new photos

Damn computers. Apparently, my CPU fan is going out, so the dang thing has been shutting down, due to a "thermal event." Dell is supposed to be replacing it for me. So, I am hesitant to hook up the camera until the random shut-downs stop. But I did get the buttons sewn on Saturday. Woo-hoo, done before Closing Ceremonies! THough it turned out to not be the challenge I thought, so do I really give myself the gold?

Sleeves are joined. Wow, this is coming along quite nicely. Too dark to get good pictures now, but the sleeves and body are joined. I've started the decrease rows for the yoke and V-neck.

Knitting Olympics

Got off to a late start, then decided to start over with nicer yarn. I didn't think there was any way I'd finish.

It seems I have underestimated my knitting speed and ability! Despite not starting until Sunday, and having a heck of a cold, I've made a LOT of progress!



Just a couple more inches on the left sleeve, then time to join body and sleeves!

That top row needs to be tightened a bit, but no puckering, and no knots.
If I can manage to get any knitting in today before taking Boy Wonder south, I may have updates by tomorrow!
